Has it been a long time since you had a look at Canada’s Food Guide? It has changed over the years to stay up to date, but what hasn’t changed is it’s usefulness to let us know if we are:
1) Getting enough of each different food group (veggies and fruits; grains; meat and alternatives and milk and alternatives and a variety within each area)
2) If our serving sizes are appropriate (e.g. a cup of cooked pasta is 2 servings and many times people consume way too much pasta and, there’s nothing wrong with the whole grain pasta itself, but what happens is this displaces the balanced consumption of other foods-usually vegetables.)
